Welcome, Diana (and goodbye, Frances)

A big welcome to the team to Diana Marcu, who is starting her PhD in the lab, co-supervised by Julia Cordero and Julian Dow. Diana has interests in ageing after having done undergraduate work with Colin Selman. She’s now going to be looking at how microbiota regulate fly health by modulating host signalling.

We also have to say farewell to Frances Llanwarne, who joined us in the lab for just a few weeks after a very successful computational MSc project over summer. Frances has helped us to develop new protocols for isolating healthy and happy cells from fly tissues, and is now embarking on a career in biomedical diagnostics.
